Unfortunately, many people have anxiety when they visit dental offices. This is because dental procedures can have a bit of pain associated with them. As a matter of fact, it’s the nervousness that is often associated with going to the dentist that is often the reason why some Americans neglect their dental visits.

We want you to be as comfortable as possible when you visit our practice. With this in mind, we have a solution that can help remove some of the anxiety associated with your dental visit.

If you find that you are nervous about visiting your dentist in Las Vegas, or you have multiple procedures being performed in a single visit, then perhaps sedation dentistry can help you experience some relief.

There are several procedures that are done in our practice that involve dental implants, extractions, bone grafting, standard veneer preparation, periodontal procedures, and crowns that can cause some anxiety. These procedures can honestly be painful, even with general anesthesia at work. Sedation dentistry uses a method of anesthesia to cause you to sleep through your entire procedure.

Amazingly, this realm of dentistry has come a long way; gone are the days of feeling groggy after sedation. These days, you will wake up feeling refreshed without having to have felt any discomfort from your procedure.

At Nevada Dentistry and Braces, we precisely measure and control the needed amount of medication to help you sleep through your procedure. The medicine is then administered through an IV. The medicine that we use typically only lasts for about three minutes, but since it’s administered through an IV drip, you’ll sleep restfully throughout the duration of your procedure.

When it’s time to wake up, the IV drip is ended, and since it’s only a medication that will put you under for a few minutes per dose, you wake up relatively quickly. In order to ensure your safety, during the awakening phase, we also administer reversing agents in combination with our main medications.

If an IV drip isn’t your thing, we can offer oral medicine as well. In fact, our practice specializes in sedation dentistry and is a leader in the field in Las Vegas, NV. You’ll comfortably rest while we perform your dental implant, extraction, bone grafting, standard veneer preparation, and crown procedure.

In addition to providing a safe way to cut down on nervousness, we find that a growing percentage of our patients are unable to be numbed by traditional anesthesia. If you find that you are one of these people, sedation dentistry can be perfect for you. Additionally, if you simply want to be comfortable, this is a great area of general dentistry for you. On average, the average sedation appointment takes a little more than two hours, but there are some procedures that can go for as much as six hours.

When it comes to sedation dentistry in Las Vegas, NV, our specialists will provide you with a very relaxing experience that will make receiving general and cosmetic dentistry procedures easy. If you find that you experience a lot of anxiety when you make dental appointments, come in for a consult, and we’ll tell you about our sedation dentistry options.
